Nineteen of the Russian's twenty-one championships have been won on hard courts
A resurgent Daniil Medvedev claimed his first trophy for 882 days with a win over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.
The athlete, a former number one, has had a difficult year, winning just one win at the major tournaments and experiencing a meltdown at the American major.
His inconsistency on the tennis tour - and issues with his serving in specific - resulted in him dropping out of the elite rankings and ultimately parting ways with former trainer Cervara.
Currently training with his coach and Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently advanced in the past month - climaxing in a hard-fought three-set win over challenger Corentin Moutet.
It is the player's initial title since the Rome competition and first on a hard court from March of that year.
Victory also signifies the Russian has won twenty-one victories at 21 different tournaments.
"For the first time I am participating in a tournament with my children together, so to secure a trophy is particularly special," stated ranked player the champion.
"This victory is in tribute of my second daughter my daughter, because the maiden victory I got when my child Alisa was born was for her."
The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his last six title deciders, featuring in Halle in the past months.
The player's defensive strategy and regular emotional displays on the tennis court had prompted some to wonder if his ability to perform at the top level was concluded.
But the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, making an effort to come to the net and play assertively, backed up by an improved serving game.
He came back from a break down in the opening set against the tricky Frenchman, winning 4 of the final five exchanges to gain the advantage.
The competitors traded breaks in the following set before the challenger, attempting for his first ATP Tour championship, seized the initiative to create a decider.
Moutet saved 4 initial break points in a competitive deciding set before the champion secured a break to that score to close out the victory.
Appropriately, he secured the title with a point at the front of the court, with Moutet incapable to handle a volley after over two and a half hours.
