The UK is set to progress with utilizing the full worth of seized Russian holdings to bolster Ukraine's military campaign, Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has stated.

In a joint statement, the leaders of the UK, the French Republic, and the Federal Republic of Germany stated that this unified step would increase strain on Russian President Vladimir Putin and persuade Moscow to participate in talks.

They added that the initiative would be carried out in close cooperation with the US.

United Kingdom restrictions have immobilized over £25bn of Russian assets since the Russian government began its comprehensive attack against the Ukrainian nation in 2022. Yet, until now, money allocated to the Ukrainian government using Russia's assets had only been sourced from gains and dividends generated on them.

Sir Keir assured President Volodymyr Zelensky that the United Kingdom, France, and the Federal Republic of Germany were united in their goal to push forward toward using the complete amount of the seized Russian sovereign funds to halt hostilities.

He stated that more measures in the coming days and weeks would apply more pressure on the Russian government.

This announcement follows European representatives gathered in the Danish capital recently to discuss utilizing seized Russian funds for a €140bn credit to the Ukrainian nation.

Recently, US President Donald Trump encouraged G7 allies to confiscate or utilize seized Russian assets, as reported by news outlets.

The total of immobilized Russian holdings in the Europe is assessed to be nearly €211bn.

Moscow executed large-scale missile and drone strikes all over Ukraine on Friday, causing power cuts in large parts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv, and eight other regions.

Several persons were killed and a minimum of 20 people were hurt in the attack, authorities in Ukraine stated.

In a message on an online platform after the attack, Zelensky commented that the strategic strike focused on public and utility structures.

"What's needed is not empty words but firm measures - from the America, EU, and the G7 - in delivering anti-aircraft weapons and enforcing penalties," he stated.

"All penalty impositions diminishes Russia's war machine," Zelensky declared, in a separate post.

Additionally that day, Zelensky informed media outlets he would press Sir Keir to join the PURL program, under which Nato countries buy military equipment from the America to donate to Ukraine.

While commending the United Kingdom's strong support for the Ukrainian government, he remarked it should send a clear signal that it would participate in the program, as well as enforce further sanctions on Moscow.
